Northern Alsace is good-food country, and its most decorated table sits five minutes from the hotel. La Merise in Laubach: two stars, five minutes away
This is both the closest table to the hotel and the most decorated in the area. Christelle and Cédric Deckert opened La Merise in October 2016 in Laubach, on the edge of the Northern Vosges regional nature park. The house now belongs to Relais & Châteaux and holds two stars in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide.
The restaurant states that it serves from Thursday lunch to Sunday evening, and it runs a guesthouse for one to six people that fills quickly. So do the tables: for a Saturday evening, allow several weeks. Address: 7 rue d’Eschbach in Laubach, 3 km from Morsbronn-les-Bains, about a 5 minute drive.
Auberge du Cheval Blanc in Lembach: one star, twenty minutes away
Carole and Pascal Bastian run this 18th-century former coaching inn in the centre of Lembach, in the Northern Vosges. The 2026 MICHELIN Guide awards it one star and describes cooking poised between pure classicism and creativity, built on fine produce. Pascal Bastian began his career in this very house, under Fernand Mischler.
The auberge is also a hotel with a spa. Address: 4 rue de Wissembourg in Lembach, roughly 14 km and 20 minutes from the hotel. Closing days vary, so confirm on the official website before setting off.
Le Cygne in Gundershoffen: a Bib Gourmand a quarter of an hour away
Laure and Fabien Mengus took over this house on the Grand Rue, and the 2026 MICHELIN Guide gives it a Bib Gourmand, the distinction that rewards value for money rather than luxury. It is the right address when you want genuine produce-led cooking without a full tasting-menu evening.
Address: 35 Grand Rue in Gundershoffen, about 11 km and 15 minutes from the Ritter’Hoft. Opening days have changed in recent years and the annual closures are not the same every summer: check aucygne.fr or call ahead.
Restaurant Anthon in Obersteinbach: the table inside the nature park
The Flaig family has been welcoming guests for four generations in this half-timbered house from 1860, the village’s former post house, deep inside the Northern Vosges regional nature park. Georges Flaig works with nearby producers, from Windstein Highland beef to Wingen trout.
The house appears in the MICHELIN Guide without holding a star, and that is exactly what makes it a good surprise: serious cooking in a forest village, about 24 km and 30 minutes away through the valleys.
Villa René Lalique in Wingen-sur-Moder: two stars in the Northern Vosges
The villa was built in 1920 by René Lalique himself. It now houses a five-star hotel in the Relais & Châteaux collection and a restaurant set in a contemporary extension designed by Mario Botta. Austrian chef Paul Stradner holds two stars there in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide.
This is the trip for a big occasion, and it pairs well with the Lalique museum in the same village. Allow about 35 km and 45 minutes from Morsbronn-les-Bains, along forest roads.
A little further: Strasbourg and Obernai
About 40 minutes away, Strasbourg lines up several starred tables in a walkable old town: Au Crocodile, 1741, Umami and Les Funambules each hold one star in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide. About 55 minutes away, La Fourchette des Ducs in Obernai holds two.

A gourmet weekend in northern Alsace works well over two or three nights: a starred dinner on the Saturday, our own table on the other evenings, and the days for the thermal baths, the castles and the half-timbered villages. Our restaurant serves lunch and dinner except on Sunday evening, under the Logis Restaurant Gourmand label, with Christophe Zenns in the kitchen. Sunday evening is therefore a good night to eat elsewhere.
